    CSC 109, EGR 111, Computer Science team, 2 Physics teams

  • Nov. 30, 2006 - Dec. 1, 2006 Dr. Frank Klassner of Villanova University visited Canisius and delivered two talks: Nov. 30 to a general audience, Dec. 1 during the Computer Science seminar.

  • April 16, 2007 Dr. Steve Petersen of Niagara University visited Canisius and delivered a talk: "The Ethics of Robotic Servitude."

  • May 7-9, 2007 Dr. Mark Meyer delivered a paper on Robotran and the simulator at the FLAIRS 07 conference in Key West, Florida.

  • June 4-8, 2007 Dr. Mark Meyer attended a workshop at the University of Mississippi and made a presentation on what we have done at Canisius College.

  • July 25-27, 2007 We presented a workshop for high school and college teachers, and students, on how to use the LEGO NXT robots, mostly using the NXT-G graphical programming system. The workshop led up to a competition.

  • Nov. 9, 2007 Dr. Doug Blank from Bryn Mawr College visited and spoke to us: "Robots in the Classroom: This Time It's Personal!"

  • Nov. 17, 2007 Second annual robotics competition in Student Winter Center at Canisius College. Nine teams of students from EGR 111 and CSC 109 competed in two categories: RCX and NXT. The competitions involved: 1.) drag racing, 2.) maze escaping, and the brutal 3.) sumo wrestling. A number of parents attended.
